On September 12, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of the Republic of Croatia kindly hosted the agorateka roadshow. The agorateka delegation presented the European online content portal project to an audience of national experts from both the public and private sectors.
The aim of the roadshow was to meet stakeholders face-to-face in countries that have not yet joined agorateka, in order to guide them in setting up their own national portals where their citizens can easily find legal content.
After the welcome speech by SIPO’s Director-General, Ljiljana Kuterovac, Project Manager, René Havermans, introduced the project. Juan Luis Marín Gutiérrez then took the attendees through the website’s most useful features before the Portuguese representative, Carlos Eugénio, explained how his country has successfully joined the project as a pilot country.
Finally, SIPO’s Deputy Director-General, Ms Ana Rački Marinković, highlighted the importance of the promotion of legal offers in the fight against piracy.
An intense and fruitful debate took place afterwards with the involvement of all the participants from of both sectors.
